About
Hannah Perlkin, LAc, DTCM
I work with people of all ages - from infants to elders - to provide support through the seasons of life. From my background in ecology, I bring two concepts to my clinical practice: adaptabtility & resilience
Adaptability: the process of adjusting behavior, physiology, or structure to become more suited to an environment
Resilience: the capacity of a system to undergo disturbance and reorganize so as to still maintain essentially the same functions, structures, and controls
As we move through the seasons of life, my goal is to help my patients increase both their ability to find equanimity when facing new circumstances and to bounce back after a disturbance. Through acupuncture, herbs, dietary and lifestyle modifications, I work with patients to meet their goals and thrive in their environment.
MODALITIES
I use a blend of needle & non-needle techniques, herbs, dietary & lifestyle advice to treat all ages.
ACUPUNCTURE
Fine needles are inserted at specific points to stimulate meridians & muscles.
CHINESE HERBS
Single herbs, patent formulas and custom blends are used to treat a variety of complaints.
SHONISHIN
A Japanese non-needling technique for pediatric patients.
CUPPING & GUASHA
Suction cups and guasha (muscle stroking using a rounded-edged tool) are non-needle techniques used to treat pain & internal conditions.
"From ancient times it has been recognized that there is an intimate relationship between the activity and life of human beings and their natural environment. The root of all life is yin and yang; this includes everything in the universe, with heaven above and earth below, within the four directions and the nine continents"
