FAQS
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?
Your first appointment will be 80-90 minutes long and includes an in-depth intake followed by an acupuncture treatment. For those new to acupuncture, the practice consists of inserting sterile filiform needles into the body. It is generally painless although sensations such as warmth, buzzing or pulsing are often reported. You rest with the needles inserted for 20-40 minutes. Sometimes additional therapies like cupping, guasha or gentle tuina (Chinese medical massage) are used.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIALTIES?
I treat the entire family, from birth to death. I have a strong background in women's health, fertility, pregnancy and labor as well as pediatrics. If you are curious if your condition is suited to my practice, feel free to reach out.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT?
Come with an open mind and in comfortable clothing. Arriving in or bringing clothing that allows access to the elbow, knees and belly and/or low back is helpful. If it is relevant to your condition(s), please email or bring lab results. You are more than welcome to arrive with questions for me.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
No although I can provide a superbill upon request.
